I wanted the faces to look like they were coming out of the page, you can't see it as clearly here, need to re-scan methinks.
Modified from an old life drawing. I'm going to add fish and other underwater elements to the empty spaces.
I am liking this pictures. Only things I will be say are: Patrick Stewart looks like him but it look like someone is pulling his cheek to one side. You must really be planning out roughly where features go before attempted the draw. I do not like the mermaid.

Yeah, you are the only one who comments. Some people comment on the link I put on my FB page though.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about Patrick Stewart's face, I wasn't sure where I had gone wrong but it didn't look completely right. Still I see improvement in my portrait skills, it's much better than it would have been a year ago.
It seems you do not get much support on this blogging. Do you have a facebook for your arts that I can see? There is improvement but you stills have a long way to go but that can onl;y come through artc ollege and universitys. Is very hard getting work in art based things these days and you are be competing next to some very talented peoples.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you are drawing mermaids it may be good idea to look at reference of fish for to draw the tail - the tail fin is looking a bit like a fungus!

I do not at the moment - my website it crashed last year and due to too much workload, I haven't time to get fixed!It is good I have big client base who do not are that I have not website. That is due to 10 years of work! I am attempt to start a blog here on Blogspots though. Maybe I will gets the time soon! I can be email you some work?
