Quick College Update

I set my alarm this morning to ensure I would be up bright and early. I got into my car and trundled off to the bank to check my account like a person with OCD. I've been checking it almost every day for a month! I saved up most of the £290 for college and borrowed the rest (Thank you uncle Tim!!) and I had to make sure we didn't overspend.

The money was still there!

As I am currently on JSA I had to take a copy of my bank statement with me to enrol so that I would get the discounted rate. I was expecting my statement to come in the post last week, but no. So while checking my account at the bank I also had to get them to print off a statement for me. I'm a little concerned as they didn't say they would charge me for it but others thing they will... Will have to check that later.

I now have the money and bank statement and I'm making my way to the college with the music up loud to distract my wild thoughts. I park, I buy a parking ticket (I really don't need a £30 fine right now!) and I'm sitting in the college office. I pull out all my paperwork and answer all the questions and am left wondering what the hell is going on as their system doesn't do as t's told! Like I need more reasons to freak out today!

Eventually she re-takes my picture for a new student card, I remembered to wash my hair last night so this time my photo makes me look human! She then takes my card, removes a small fortune from my account and wishes me a good day. Before I left I had to make sure we both understood where we were and asked ''So, it's all paid, I'm on the course, nothing is going to go wrong on your end?'' ''Yes, everything is fine.''

Are you sure? That was a little too easy. Nothing is EVER that easy... And that is the last time I'm going to be a pessimist about this.

I'M GOING TO COLLEGE!!!! IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!

Now to finish my homework...

See No Evil/Upfest Aug 2011

Yesterday my partner and I went to see an amazing street art festival in the middle of a downtrodden part of the city. It was fantastic! So much good art all over the place, everywhere you look something new pops out at you. Here are a few pics from the day.

For a complete look at all the pieces we could find click on this handy little link http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150264826102544.323955.511342543

Gah!!

Sorry, it's been a few days since my last update... No excuses really just having a time of it. I believe it was Terry Prattchet who penned the insult "May you live in interesting times." Well these are interesting times indeed.

As I have not scanned in any new developments to my sketchbook I am going to do something a little different today. Here be links to great sites and wonders of the interwebs.

http://shadowness.com/ It's like deviant art but for grown-ups.

http://www.conceptart.org/ For everything conceptual. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=74 a direct link to the community activities, where you can get involved. http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=81332 if you want to get into concept art, this is something you should try out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=H1mX8ptsmBM The best music video I have ever seen! Just my opinion, but you have to admit it is very well done.

http://visitants.co.uk/ I think this is a brilliant idea from a talented artists.
http://beautifulburden.com/Gallery.php A beautiful artist.
http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/the-best-of-senshistock/14456751?productTrackingContext=search_results/search_shelf/center/1 Something I will definately buy as soon as I have some spare change!
http://sketchoholic.com/ This is a fun forum for challenges.

OK, enough for today, another update like this will no doubt happen at a later date when I am again feeling unproductive.

Enjoy.

Sketchbook Update 8

A quick sketch of Patrick Stewart done at the pub after a silly conversation about him naked.

I wanted the faces to look like they were coming out of the page, you can't see it as clearly here, need to re-scan methinks.

Modified from an old life drawing. I'm going to add fish and other underwater elements to the empty spaces.

Burlesque Life Drawing

On Wednesday 3rd August, 6-9pm, I attended a Burlesque Life Drawing class at the Folk House in Bristol.

This one is my favourite.

It was a great night, a lot of fun was had. All these pictures were done on A3 with charcoal, and as I don't currently have an A3 scanner I took photos, hence they are slightly dark. Apologies.
